The Department of Foreign Affairs presents its compliments to the Embassy of the United States of America and has the honor to refer to the Embassy's Note No. 1049 dated 18 December 1996 on the Visa Arrangement between the Governments of the United States of America and the Republic of the Philippines concerning Textiles and Textile Products.
The Government of the Philippines finds the text of the visa arrangement acceptable, with the exception of one paragraph which the Government of the Philippines proposes to delete. An amendment to the visa arrangement is therefore proposed that would delete paragraph B. under Item 6., for the reason that the information on all shipments visaed by the Government of Philippines is already being transmitted to the Government of the United States of America on a daily basis.
The Department of Foreign Affairs avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy of the United States of America assurances of its highest consideration.
