MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE AERONAUTICAL AUTHORITIES OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES AND THE STATE OF QATAR
1. Delegations representing the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Government of the State of Qatar met in Manila on 14 - 15 January 2009 to discuss matters relating to the Air Services Agreement between the two countries, signed on 10 January 1993.
2. The Philippine Delegations was headed by Undersecretary Doroteo A, Reyes II, Chairman RP Air Negotiating Panel and the Qatari Delegation was headed by Mr. Abdulaziz Mohd Al-Noaimi, Chairman, Civil Aviation Authority of the State of Qatar. The lists of the two delegations are attached as ATTACHMENT I.
3. The meeting was conducted in a most cordial and friendly atmosphere reflecting the good relationship existing between the two countries. As a result, both delegations reached the following agreement:
3.1 Application
This Memorandum of Understanding shall modify accordingly the Air Transport Agreement between the Government of the Republic of the Philippines and State of Qatar signed on 10 January 1993 and the subsequent Confidential Memoranda of Understanding dated 23 January 1995, 06 June 1997 and 19 March 2002.
3.2 Route Schedule
The Route Schedule is hereby amended as indicated in ATTACHMENT II and its operation is subject to the capacity (under paragraph 3.3 below) and notations therein.
3.3 Capacity
Both delegations agreed for the designated airline(s) of each Contracting Party to operate the following capacity for the specified Route Schedule:
Passenger Services
a. Manila - Doha
With immediate effect, a maximum of eight (8) frequencies per week on each direction with any type of aircraft except Airbus 380.
b. Clark-Doha
With immediate effect, a maximum of fourteen (54) frequencies per week on each direction with any type of aircraft except Airbus 380.
c. Cebu - Doha
With immediate effect, a maximum of fourteen (14) frequencies per week on each direction with any type of aircraft except Airbus 380.
All-cargo services
a. Manila - Doha
With immediate effect, a maximum of 200 tons per week on each direction.
b. Clark-Doha
With immediate effect, a maximum of 400 tons per week on each direction.
4. This Memorandum of Understanding shall enter into force upon signature.
5. The Contracting Parties agreed to notify each other upon completion of their respective formalities.
