JOINT COMMUNIQUE ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES AND THE ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF MAURITANIA

The Republic of the Philippines and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, Desirous to promote mutual understanding and strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries, Guided by the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter and international law, particularly the respect and promotion of international peace and security, equality among States,   due   respect   for   national   sovereignty   and   territorial   integrity,   independence   and international treaties, and non-interference in the internal affairs of States.

Have decided to establish diplomatic relations at the Ministerial level, in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of April 18, 1961, as of the date of the signing of this Joint Communique.

In witness thereof, the undersigned representatives, duly authorized by their respective authorities, have signed this Joint Communique in two originals, in Arabic and English languages, both texts being equally authentic.
