JOINT COMMUNIQUE ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES AND THE REPUBLIC OF BURUNDI

The Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Government of the Republic of Burundi,

DESIROUS to promote mutual understanding and strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the two countries,

GUIDED by the principles and purposes of the United Nations Charter and international law, particularly the respect and promotion of international peace and security, equality among States, due respect for national sovereignty and territorial integrity, independence and international treaties, and non-interference in the internal affairs of States,

HAVE DECIDED to establish diplomatic relations at the Ambassadorial level, in accordance with the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations of April 18, 1961, and the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations of April 24, 1963, as of the date of the signing of this Joint Communique.

In witness thereof, the undersigned representatives, duly authorized by their respective authorities, have signed this Joint Communique in two originals in English and French, both being equally authentic.

Done in New York on the 30th day of June 2017.

COMMUNIQUE CONJOINT

SUR L'ETABLISSEMENT DES RELATIONS DIPLOMATIQUES ENTRE LA REPUBLIQUE DU BURUNDI ET LA REPUBLIQUE DES PHILIPPINES

Le Gouvernement de la Republique du Burundi et le Gouvernement de la Republique des Philippines,

DESIREUX d'initier et de renforcer les relations d'amities et de cooperation bilaterale entre les deux Etats sur les plans politique, economique, culturel, et dans tous autres domaines,

GUIDES par les principes et les normes de la Charte des Nations Unies et de loi internationale, en particulier le respect et la promotion de la paix et de la securite internationale, l'egalite entre les Etats, le respect de la souverainete nationale et de l'integrite territoriale, l'independance, les traites internationaux et la non-ingerence dans les affaires des Etats,

ONT DECIDE d'etablir des relations diplomatiques entre les deux Etats au niveau des ambassadeurs en conformite avec les dispositions de la convention de Vienne sur les Relations diplomatiques du 18 avril 1961 et la convention de Vienne sur les Relations Consulaires du 24 avril 1963, a compter de la date de la signature du present communique conjoint.

Les representants soussignes, dument habilites par leurs gouvernements respectifs ont signe, le present communique conjoint en deux versions originales en francais et en anglais, les deux textes faisant egalement foi.
