MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING ON COOPERATION BETWEEN THE FOREIGN SERVICE INSTITUTE OF THE PHILIPPINES AND THE INSTITUTE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND TRADE OF HUNGARY

THE FOREIGN SERVICE INSTITUTE OF THE PHILIPPINES, hereinafter referred to as "FSI"

AND

THE INSTITUTE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND TRADE OF HUNGARY, hereinafter referred to as "IFAT",

 

Individually referred to as "Participant" and collectively as "Participants"

 

Have reached the following understanding:

    1. The Participants will endeavor to:

      1. 1. Promote and develop cooperation in their respective programs of study and other relevant academic activities that the respective institutions administer, including but not limited to the fields of International Law, Diplomatic Practice and other pursuits pertinent to the diplomatic profession, as well as in the field of international political, economic, and cultural relations;

      1.2. Establish a mechanism through the use of existing and emerging methods for the exchange of information with respect to activities of mutual interest and foster the exchange of publications and other materials of common interest as well as facilitate the establishment of contacts between their respective libraries and archives;

      1.3. Discuss the possibility of participation in conferences, symposia, and round table discussion organized by the other Participant;

      1.4. Cooperate on the following activities:


      1.4.1.
      1.4.2
      1.4.3
      1.4.4
      Exchange of experts and researchers;
      Conduct joint research programs, the duration and conditions of which will be determined by the Participants;
      Invitation to symposia, meetings, and conferences; and
      Other modes of cooperation as may be agreed; and

      1.5. Fulfill commitments carried out under this Memorandum in conformity with their respective country's laws and procedures.

    2. This Memorandum of Understanding does not create any legally binding commitment or obligation on the part of either Participant.

    3. This Memorandum of Understanding will be effective upon its signing and will remain valid until it is terminated by written notice by either Participant. The termination of this Memorandum will take effect fifteen (15) days after such written notice is received by the other Participant. The termination of this Memorandum will not imply the suspension of ongoing projects, programs, or activities unless the Participants decide to do so.

Signed in Davao City, Philippines, on this 27th day of March 2017, in two originals in the English language.
