EXCHANGE OF NOTES BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES AND THE REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA CONFIRMING THE UNDERSTANDING OF THE PAR­TIES ON THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES-REPUBLIC OF INDONESIA AGREEMENTS

Excellency:

I have the honour to refer to the various agreements between the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines signed in Manila on May 30, 1969, and wish to confirm our understanding on the following points:

1. Our respective Governments shall take immediate action to effect the exchange of notes necessary to make all the Agreements signed on the said date definitely effective.

2. In connection with our Agreements on Coconut and Coconut Products, our respective Governments will take immediate action to appoint the members of the panels that will meet at the soonest possible time to formulate within the framework of the Asian Coconut Community (a) a strategy on the proposed European Economic Community inland tax on copra and coconut oil and (b) appropriate policies on the pricing and marketing of coconut products.

3. In connection with our Agreements on Forestry and on Fisheries, each of our respective Governments shall, within three (3) months, inform the other on which Government agencies shall be responsible for implementing the Agreements and the names of the individuals designated to constitute the panels on each side. It is desirable that meetings on these Agreements be convened within three (3) months after the constitution of the said panels.
