EXCHANGE OF NOTES BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES AND THE REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN ON THE ABOLITION OF NON-IMMIGRANT VISA REQUIREMENTS

Excellency:
I have the honor to refer to the conversations between the representatives of our two Governments concerning the proposal for the abolition of non-immigrant visa requirements for the citizens of our two countries, and to confirm the following understandings on the subject:
1. Citizens of Pakistan holding valid passports shall be free to enter the Philippines as tourists or for business purposes at any authorized port of entry and to stay in the country for a maximum period of fifty-nine (59) days without the necessity of obtaining a visa.
2. Citizens of the Philippines holding valid Philippine passports shall be free to enter Pakistan as tourists or for business purposes at any authorized port of entry and to stay in the country for a maximum period of fifty-nine (59) days without the necessity of obtaining a visa.
3. The foregoing waiver of visa requirements does not exempt citizens of Pakistan entering the Philippines, and citizens of the Philippines entering Pakistan, from the necessity of complying with the laws and regulations in the host country concerning the taking of employment or the exercise of any profession with or without compensation.
4. Each Party reserves the right to refuse entry or stay in its territory or citizens of the other Party who may be considered undesirable.
5. Each Party may temporarily suspend this agreement for reasons of public order. Such suspension shall be immediately notified to the other Party.
6. Each Party may denounce this agreement by notifying the other Party in writing. The denunciation shall take effect at the end of three (3) months from the date of the receipt of the notification.
7. This agreement shall enter into force on 1 December 1972.
I have the honor to propose that this note and Your Excellency's reply Pakistan — Abolition of Non-immigrant Visa Requirement -- 26 October 1972 887 concurring therein, shall constitute an agreement between our two Governments.
Accept, Excellency, the renewed assurances of my highest consideration.
