AMENDMENT TO MC 2005-006 REGARDING REQUIRED MARKINGS FOR ALL PUVS

SUBJECT:
AMENDMENT TO MC 2005-006 REGARDING REQUIRED MARKINGS FOR ALL PUVS

The Board previously required the "How's My Driving?" marking for all public utility vehicles as a means of preventing the abuses of public utility drivers.

In order to provide strengthen the Board's drive against erring drivers and encourage the riding public to report abuses of transport operators/drivers, the Board in the exercise of its power to promulgate rules and regulations concerning public land based transport hereby amends Memorandum Circular 2005-006 as follows:
  1. All authorized units shall bear the markings:

    Itawag sa LTFRB


    1. For vehicles with CPCs issued by the Central Office, the LTFRB Hotline shall be 4262515 or (0921) 448-7777.

      For vehicles with CPCs issued by the Regional Offices, the LTFRB Hotline number shall be as follows:

    2. For PUBs, Taxis, UV Express, School Transport, Tourist Buses, Shuttle Service, the above markings shall be located at the rear windshield, right and left sides of the units.

      For other transport services/vehicles, the above markings shall be located at the rear hood portion, right and left sides of the units.

    3. For buses, trucks, vans, and similar units, the above markings shall have the following letters/numbers size:

      Height : 5 inches
      Width : 1 inch
      Color : Red, White or Black

    4. For sedan vehicles and similar units, the markings shall have the following letters/numbers size:

      Height : 3 inches
      Width : 1 inch
      Color : Green

    5. For jeepneys and similar units, the marking shall have the following letters/ numbers size:

      Height : 3 inches
      Width : 1 inch
      Color : Black

  2. All PUVs shall also indicate the Maximum Passenger Capacity, which shall be placed below the "May Reklamo Ka?" marking.

  3. All OUTSIDE markings must be clearly readable at a distance of at least five (5) meters

  4. All PUVs shall be required to paint/display the following information INSIDE the vehicle where passengers can easily see them:

    1. Vehicle Plate Number
    2. LTFRB Hotline Number
    3. Operator's Hotline Number
    4. Notice on the grant of 20% fare discount to senior citizens, persons with disabilities and students.
All operators are required to comply within sixty (60) days from effectivity hereof. Penalty in the amount of One Thousand Pesos (P1,000.00) shall be imposed per single offense for non-compliance herewith.

This Memorandum shall take effect fifteen (15) days following its publication in at least two (2) newspapers of general circulation. Let three (3) copies hereof be filed with the UP Law Center pursuant to Presidential Memorandum Circular No. 11, dated 09 October 1992.
