[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 87, January 24, 1946 ]

AMENDING EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 82, DATED DECEMBER 24, 1945 WHICH AUTHORIZES THE PHILIPPINE PRESS WIRELESS, INC., MANILA, TO HANDLE BY RADIO TYPES OF SERVICE BESIDES THAT AUTHORIZED BY THE COMPANY’S FRANCHISE



WHEREAS, after proper investigation it has been shown conclusively that the conditions which required the issuance of Executive Order No. 82 on December 24, 1945, still exist and will continue to exist for sometime;

WHEREAS, the rapid readjustment of United States military personnel and the disposition of surplus materials have precipitated a critical situation on military communication systems, between the Philippines and the United States, which necessitates the maximum utilization of all available commercial communication facilities; and

WHEREAS, public interest, convenience and necessity require that the temporary authority granted to the Philippine Press Wireless, Inc., under Executive Order’ No. 82 be extended;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, SERGIO OSMEÑA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the .powers vested in me by the Constitution and existing laws of the Philippines, do hereby authorize the Philippine Press Wireless, Inc., to continue handling telecommunication services besides that type of service authorized in its franchise for a period of two months beginning January 25, 1946.

Done at the City of Manila, this 24th day of January, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-six, and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the eleventh.
