[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 428, April 03, 1951 ]

ALLOWING THE ADDITION OF ONE PER CENTUM MUNICIPAL TAX TO PRICES FIXED IN EXECUTIVE ORDERS NOS. 331, 332, 337, 343, 352, 353, 360, 361, 369, 370, 373, 374, 379, 381, 382, AND 390



By virtue of the powers vested in me by section 3 of Republic Act No. 509, entitled “An Act declaring national policy, authorizing the President of the Philippines for a limited period to fix ceiling prices of commodities and to promulgate rules and regulations regarding prices of commodities to effectuate such policy, and authorizing the appropriation of a certain sum for the purpose,” and upon the recommendation of the Price Administration Board, I, Elpidio Quirino, President of the Philippines, do hereby order:

SECTION 1. In accordance with the provisions of the Municipal Ordinance No. 3420 of the City of Manila, which took effect on January 1, 1951, any importer, or wholesaler, or retailer of imported commodities the ceiling prices of which are fixed in Executive Orders No. 331 dated July 7, 1950, No. 332, dated July 13, 1950, No. 337 dated July 27, 1950, No. 343, dated August 14, 1950, No. 352, dated October 6, 1950, No. 353, dated October 6, 1950, No. 360, dated November 3, 1950, No. 361, dated November 3, 1950, No. 369, dated November 13, 1950, No. 370, dated November 13, 1950, No. 373, dated November 27, 1950, No. 374, dated November 27, 1950, No. 379, dated December 5, 1950, No. 381, dated December 8, 1950, No. 382, dated December 12, 1950, and No. 390, dated December 27, 1950, is hereby allowed to add one per centum to the corresponding Importer’s, Wholesaler’s or Retailer’s ceiling price fixed in said Executive Orders: Provided, however, That if by adding said one per centum to the corresponding price the total contains a fraction of a centavo, then any fraction less than five-tenths shall be disregarded and any fraction from five to nine-tenths shall be considered as one.

SEC. 2. This Order shall take effect as of January 1, 1951, the date Municipal Ordinance No. 3420 of the City of Manila took effect.

Done in the City of Manila, this 3rd day of April, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-one, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the fifth.
