[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 150, April 28, 1938 ]

CORDAGE ALLOTMENT FOR 1938–39



Whereas, the effects of Public Act Numbered One hundred and thirty-seven of the Seventy-fourth Congress have been extended for another period of three years effective May first, nineteen hundred and thirty-eight; and

Whereas, according to the final figures submitted by the Bureau of Customs, Philippine cordage producers and manufacturers for the period beginning May first, nineteen hundred and thirty-seven, did not make any shipment to the United States in excess of the amount allotted to such exporters as promulgated by Executive Order Numbered One hundred one, dated June fourteenth, nineteen hundred and thirty-seven;
Now, therefore, pursuant to the authority vested in me by Public Act Numbered One hundred and thirty-seven of the Seventy-fourth Congress, approved June fourteenth, nineteen hundred and thirty-five, entitled “An Act to protect American and Philippine labor and to preserve an essential industry, and for other purposes,” it is hereby ordered that:

1. The effective quota of six million pounds of Philippine cordage which may enter the United States during the twelve-month period beginning May first, nineteen hundred and thirty-eight, shall be allocated among the producers and manufacturers thereof in the following manner:

2. Shipments made previous to May first, nineteen hundred and thirty-eight, shall be allowed on condition that they shall arrive in any part in Continental United States on or after May first, nineteen hundred and thirty-eight.

Done at the City of Manila, this twenty-eight day of April, in the year if Our Lord, nineteen hundred and thirty-eight, and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the third.
