[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 130, November 24, 1964 ]

CREATING THE NATIONAL TRAFFIC SAFETY ADVISORY COMMITTEE TO PLAN, STUDY, AND RECOMMEND MEASURES FOR THE PROMOTION OF TRAFFIC SAFETY



WHEREAS, the loss of life, limb, and property resulting from traffic accidents has gone up to an unprecedented level;

WHEREAS, it is the duty of the government to solve the critical traffic situation with the end in view of minimizing, if not totally eliminating, traffic accidents resulting in the loss of life and destruction to property; and

WHEREAS, in the furtherance of this duty, it is necessary to improve and coordinate the efforts of all agencies concerned with the enforcement of traffic laws, rules, and regulations;

NOW THEREFORE, I, Diosdado Macapagal, President of the Philippines, do hereby create the National Traffic Safety Advisory Committee for the purpose of planning, studying, and recommending measures for the promotion of traffic safety. The committee shall be composed of the following:

The Executive Secretary Chairman
The Secretary of Public Works and Communications Member
The Commissioner, Public Service Commission Member
The Commissioner, Land Transportation Commission Member
The Chief, Traffic Control Group, P.C. Member
The Chairman, League of Provincial Governors and City Mayors Member
The President, National Association of Chiefs of Police of the Philippines Member
The President, Safety Organizations of the Philippines Member
The President, Bus Operators Association of the Philippines Member
The President, National Association of Taxicab Operators Member
A representative from the civic organizations Member
