[ ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 1, January 22, 2001 ]

PROHIBITING PUBLIC OFFICERS AND EMPLOYEES FROM ENTERING INTO CERTAIN KINDS OF OFFICIAL TRANSACTIONS WITH REAL, PRETENDED OR IMAGINARY RELATIVES OF THE PRESIDENT



I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby prohibit all officers and employees of the Government holding positions of trust and responsibility from dealing directly or indirectly with any of my relatives or the relatives of ATTY. JOSE MIGUEL T. ARROYO, whether by consanguinity or affinity, and whether real, pretended, or imaginary, in matters relating to contracts where the Government or any of its subdivisions, agencies or instrumentalities is a party, or to the procurement or purchase of property, supplies and materials, appointment of government personnel, recommendations for positions, or any other matter calling for action or decision.

This Order shall be without prejudice to the application of the provisions of Section 5 of Republic Act No. 3019, otherwise known as the Anti-Graft and Corrupt Practices Act as well as other similar laws.

Any officer or employee of the Government, including those of the corporations owned or controlled by the same, violating this order shall be dealt with accordingly.

Done in the City of Manila, this 22nd day of January in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and One.
