[ ADMINISTRATIVE ORDER NO. 37, August 19, 2002 ]
DIRECTING THE NATIONAL HISTORICAL INSTITUTE TO ORGANIZE THE OBSERVANCE OF THE NATIONAL HEROES DAY ON AUGUST 25, 2002
WHEREAS, Act No. 3827 dated October 28, 1931 declared the last Sunday of August of every year as “National Heroes Day”;
WHEREAS, it is important that such day be observed and celebrated with appropriate ceremonies;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby direct the National Historical Institute to organize the observance of the National Heroes Day on Sunday, August 25, 2002.
The Department of Budget and Management is hereby authorized to release the amount of Five Hundred Thousand Pesos (P500,000.00) from the President’s Contingent Fund to defray the expenses for the activities commemorating the Year 2002 National Heroes Day.
This Administrative order shall take effect immediately.
Done in the City of Manila, this 19th day of August, in the year of Our Lord, two thousand and two.
