[ PROCLAMATION NO. 1634, October 06, 2008 ]
DECLARING MONDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2008, 2008, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF BACOLOD
WHEREAS, R.A. No. 7724 dated May 19, 1994, entitled "An act declaring October 19 of every year as a special non-working public holiday in the City of Bacolod to be known as "Bacolod City Charter Day";
WHEREAS, Sunday, October 19, 2008, marks the 70th Charter Day anniversary of the City of Bacolod;
WHEREAS, to enable the people of the City of Bacolod, celebrate the occasion, the Sangguniang Panlungsod requested that Monday, October 20, 2008, be declared as special (non-working) day instead of October 19, 2008, which falls on a Sunday;
WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Bacolod, be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Monday, October 20, 2008, as special (non-working) day in the City of Bacolod.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
