DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 3 TO 10, 2008 AS NATIONAL DANCE SPORT WEEK
WHEREAS, the Dance Sport Council of the Philippines, Inc. (DSCPI) is the national sport association duly accredited by the International Olympic Committee;
WHEREAS, the DSCPI in its desire to promote and further develop dance sport in the country, is staging the "12th DSCPI National Dance Sport Championship" on November 8, 2008 and the "3rd Manila IDSF Open Latin & Standard Competition", "Selection Round 1 for 2009 Southeast Asian Games" and "Professional Competition" on November 9, 2008 at the Multi-Purpose Arena, Philsports Complex, Meralco Avenue, Pasig City; and
WHEREAS, the events will gather dance sport champions and competitors all over the country competing in the Standard and Latin Disciplines of Dance Sports.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 3 to 10, 2008, as "National Dance Sport Week".
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done in the City of Manila, this 8th day of October, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Eight.
