[ PROCLAMATION NO. 548, February 09, 2004 ]

DECLARING THE MUNICIPALITIES OF DIFFUN, CABARROGUIS, AGLIPAY, MADDELA AND NATIPUNAN, ALL IN THE PROVINCE OF QUIRINO, AS A PROTECTED AREA PURSUANT TO R.A. NO. 7586 (NIPAS ACT OF 1992) WHICH SHALL BE KNOWN AS THE QUIRINO PROTECTED LANDSCAPE.



Upon recommendation of the Secretary of Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and pursuant to the powers vested upon me by law and by the provisions of Republic Act No. 7586, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, do hereby set aside and declare a parcel of land situated in the Municipalities of Diffun, Cabarroguis, Aglipay, Maddela and Nagtipunan, Province of Quirino as protected area under the category of Protected Landscape, subject to private rights, and without prejudice to the rights of the indigenous, Peoples as provided for in R.A. No. 8371, DENR Administrative Order 93-02 and other related rules and regulations, if any there be, as described in the DENR NIPAS Map No. R-2-6.

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

Beginning at a point marked, "1" is N46 10’E, 1,104 meters from junction of Cagayan River and Agilinan Creek. which is the point of beginning, containing an area of TWO HUNDRED SIX THOUSAND EIGHT HUNDRED SEVENTY FIVE AND 411/1000 (206,875.411) hectares, more or less, subject to actual ground survey.

The boundaries of the Protected Landscape shall be subject to further ground survey and delineation.

The Quirino Protected Landscape shall be under the management and jurisdiction of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) and shall be administered in accordance with the provisions of the NIPAS Act and its Implementing Rules and Regulations.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
