[ PROCLAMATION NO. 571, April 23, 2013 ]

DECLARING MONDAY, 13 MAY 2013, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC (NON-WORKING) HOLIDAY THROUGHOUT THE COUNTRY



WHEREAS,   the national and local elections shall be held on Monday, 13 May 2013;

WHEREAS,   Monday, 13 May 2013 should be declared a special public (non-working) holiday to enable the people to properly exercise their right of suffrage.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, BENIGNO S. AQUINO, III,   President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law do hereby declare Monday, 13 May 2013, as a special public (non-working) holiday throughout the country.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF,   I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 23rd day of April, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Thirteen.
