DECLARING THE PERIOD FROM NOVEMBER 22 TO 28, 2004 AS "CIVIL ENGINEERING WEEK"
WHEREAS, the government recognizes the important role of civil engineers in nation-building;
WHEREAS, the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc. (PICE), will hold its national convention and annual election on November 25 to 27, 2004 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), Pasay City;
WHEREAS, there is a need to focus national attention on the importance of the civil engineering profession and highlight its role in nation-building.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare the period from November 22 to 28, 2002 as "Civil Engineering Week" under the auspices of the Philippine Institute of Civil Engineers, Inc.
I call upon all civil engineers and students to give the observance of the week their full support.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
