[ PROCLAMATION NO. 25, December 03, 1945 ]

AMENDING PROCLAMATION NO. 23, DATED NOVEMBER 26, 1945, BY CHANGING THE DATE OF THE COMMENCEMENT OF THE SPECIAL SESSION OF THE CONGRESS OF THE PHILIPPINES SET THEREUNDER



WHEREAS, by virtue of Proclamation No. 23, dated November 26, 1945, the Congress of the Philippines has been called in special session for a period of three days commencing on the third day of December, 1945, at 4 o’clock in the afternoon, for the purpose of enacting legislation fixing the date of the election for national offices to be held hot later than April 30, 1946, and making the necessary provisions to that effect; and

WHEREAS, a majority of the members of the Senate necessary to constitute a quorum to do business is not available on this date due to difficulties of communication and transportation from their respective residences;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, SERGIO OSMEÑA, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby amend Proclamation No. 23, dated November 26, 1945, and fix December 6, 1945, at 4 o’clock in the afternoon, as the commencement of the three-day special session of the Congress of the Philippines called thereunder.

All persons entitled to sit as members of the Congress of the Philippines are requested to take notice of this Proclamation.

Done at the City of Manila, this 3rd day of December, in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen hundred and forty-five, and of the Commonwealth of the Philippines, the eleventh.
