RESERVING FOR SCHOOL SITE EXTENSION PURPOSES OF THE MINDANAO INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY (MIT) A CERTAIN PORTION OF THE PUBLIC DOMAIN SITUATED IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF KIDAPAWAN, PROVINCE OF COTABATO, ISLAND OF MINDANAO
Upon the recommendation of the Secretary of Agriculture and Natural Resources and pursuant to the provisions of section 83 of Commonwealth Act No. 141, as amended, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, do hereby withdraw from sale and settlement and reserve for school site extension purposes of the Mindanao Institute of Technology (MIT) under the administration of the Board of Trustees of the same Institute, subject to private rights, if any there be, a certain portion of the public domain situated in the municipality of Kidapawan, province of Cotabato, island of Mindanao, and more particularly described as follows:
“A parcel of land (the Proposed Site of Mindanao Institute of Technology Reservation), situated in the municipality of Kidapawan, province of. Cotabato. Beginning at a point marked “Forest Station 135” at the junction of Kulaman River and Tinaanan River, thence following Tinaanan River in a southeasterly direction up to “Forest Station 161”; thence S. 40° W., 310 meters to Sta. 162; thence S. 40° W., 400 meters to Sta. 163; thence S. 40° W., 400 meters to Sta. 164; thence S. 40° W., 480 meters to Sta. 165; thence S. 40° W., 500 meters to Sta. 166; thence S. 40° W., 150 meters to Sta. 167; thence S. 1° W., 220 meters to Sta. 168; thence S. 1° W., 390 meters to Sta. 169; thence following a Trail in a SE. direction 400.00 meters to Forest Sta. 1; thence N. 46° W., 420 meters to Sta. 2; thence N. 49° W., 1,000 meters to Sta. 3; thence N. 6° W., 460 meters to Sta. 4; thence N. 48° W., 440 meters to Sta. 5; thence N. 82° W., 500 meters to Sta. 6; thence N. 41° W., 700 meters to Sta. 7; thence N. 35° W., 310 meters to Sta. 8; thence N. 86° W., 510 meters to Sta. 9; thence S. 51° W., 250 meters to Sta. 10; thence following Paliay Creek in a westerly direction to the point of intersection with Arakan River; thence following the Arakan River in a northwesterly direction to the point of intersection with Malangag River; thence N. 2° E., 3,900 meters to the point of intersection of the proposed Feeder Road and Maranaagao Creek; thence N. 47° E., 3,700 meters to the point of beginning; containing an approximate area of 7,200 hectares.
NOTE: All data are approximate and subject to change for future surveys.
To safeguard the rights of occupants and settlers who have introduced improvements in the land in good faith, the school authorities should make arrangement for the compensation and/or reimbursement of the value of the said improvements.
