[ PROCLAMATION NO. 477, January 22, 1958 ]
DECLARING FEBRUARY 28, 1958, AS LABOR-MANAGEMENT COOPERATION DAY
WHEREAS, in Order to raise living standards through greater economic production, it is necessary to promote labor-management cooperation with a view to minimizing work stoppage which results in economic waste; and
WHEREAS, it is essential that this program of labor-management, cooperation be assured of public endorsement and support;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare February 28, 1958, as Labor-Management Cooperation Day. I call upon all government offices and instrumentalities throughout the country as well as all private entities and individuals to participate in the proper observance of the said day, to give full publicity to the promotion activities organized in connection therewith, and to cooperate with the Department of Labor in its task of fostering cooperation between labor and management in the pursuit of its program for industrial peace. I especially call on the schools and the various chambers, professional organizations and societies, civic organizations and service clubs, to dedicate a program for the promotion of knowledge of ways and means to bring about labor and management cooperation in their economic dealings with one another and with the public.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done in the City of Manila, this 22nd day of January, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-eight, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the twelfth.
