[ PROCLAMATION NO. 490, February 20, 1958 ]
DECLARING FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21, 1958, AS SEEDS FOR DEMOCRACY DAY
WHEREAS, the Seeds for Democracy Program participated in by thirteen civic groups has been greatly instrumental in strengthening democracy in the rural areas; and
WHEREAS, a Seeds for Democracy Convention will be held on February 21 and 22, 1958, for the purpose of intensifying the participation of the member civic organizations in the implementation of various community development program;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carlos P. Garcia, President of the Philippines, do hereby declare Friday, February 21, 1958, as Seeds for Democracy Day.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
Done in the City of Manila, this 20th day of February, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and fifty-eight, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the twelfth.
