[ PROCLAMATION NO. 1370, August 29, 2007 ]

DECLARING FRIDAY, AUGUST 31, 2007, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE PROVINCE OF AKLAN



WHEREAS, Friday, August 31, 2007, marks the birth anniversary of the late Jaime Cardinal L. Sin;

WHEREAS, Jaime Cardinal L. Sin, former Archbishop of Manila, has been a highly respected religious leader whose ideals can be a continuing source of inspiration to out youth;

WHEREAS, Jaime Cardinal L. Sin, a true-blooded Aklanon, contributed to the nation's political history and social transformation which left a lasting impact on the lives of the Filipino people;

WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the people of the Province of Aklan be given full opportunity to celebrate the occasion with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA. Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declared Friday, August 31, 2007, as special (non-working) day in the Province of Aklan.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 29th day of August, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Seven.
