[ PROCLAMATION NO. 1015, February 22, 2006 ]

DECLARING SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 25, 2006, A SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY



WHEREAS, this year marks the 20th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution with the theme: “NAGKAISA, NAGDASAL, MAGTAGUMPAY”;

WHEREAS, the historic event restored and ushered meaningful political, social and economic reforms in the country which serve as an inspiration as we continue to chart our collective course as a nation and a people;

WHEREAS, it is fitting that all sectors should be given the opportunity to celebrate this milestone in our country’s history through simple yet meaningful activities;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, President of the Republic of the Philippines, do hereby declare Saturday, February 25, 2006 as a special (non-working) day.

IN WITNESS THEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 22nd day February, in the year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Six.
