[ MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 6, November 08, 2010 ]

AUTHORIZING THE PARTICIPATION ON OFFICIAL TRAVEL/BUSINESS OF PROFESSIONAL FORESTERS IN THE NATIONAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES (NGAs), GOVERNMENT-OWNED AND CONTROLLED CORPORATIONS (GOCCs), STATE UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES (SUCS), AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITS (LGUs) IN THE 62nd ANNIVERSARY NATIONAL CONVENTION AND FORUM OF THE SOCIETY OF FILIPINO FORESTERS, INC. (SFFI)



The SFFI will hold its 62nd Anniversary National Convention and Forum on November 11-13, 2010 at the Dakak Beach Resort, Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte, with a theme: “Sound Forestry Governance: The Way Forward”.

The gathering will provide an opportunity for professional foresters in the NGAs, GOCCs, SUCs, and LGUs to learn more about current important issues in forestry management, interact with their colleagues and forestry management experts, and to exchange lessons and experiences in full support of efforts to propel the forestry sector towards sound forestry governance and to a bigger role in national development. The participation of professional foresters in the government sector will ensure that the said efforts will be successful for the benefit of the current and the future generations of Filipinos.

In this regard, all professional foresters in the NGAs, GOCCs, SUCs, and LGUs are hereby authorized to attend the above-mentioned convention and forum on official travel/business, chargeable against the available funds of the respective agencies of the participants, subject to the existing budgetary, accounting and auditing laws, rules and regulations, and provided that such attendance will not adversely affect the functions of the respective agencies, specially in the delivery of public service.
