[ MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 17, April 04, 2023 ]

DIRECTING ALL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND INSTRUMENTALITIES, INCLUDING GOVERNMENT-OWNED OR -CONTROLLED CORPORATIONS, AND ENCOURAGING LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNITS, TO SUPPORT THE 2023 FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DE VOLLEYBALL (FIVB) VOLLEYBALL NATIONS LEAGUE AND THE 2023 VOLLEYBALL WORLD BEACH PRO TOUR - CHALLENGE



WHEREAS, Section 19, Article XIV of the Constitution provides that the State shall promote physical education and encourage sports programs, league competitions, and amateur sports, including training for international competitions, to foster self-discipline, teamwork, and excellence for the development of a healthy and alert citizenry;

WHEREAS, the Philippine National Volleyball Federation, Inc. (PNVF) will host the third week of the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Nations League for Men, which will be held on 04 to 09 July 2023 in Pasay City, and the 2023 Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour - Challenge, to be held on 30 November to 03 December 2023 in Taguig City; and

WHEREAS, the hosting of said sports events in the Philippines will bring international prestige, publicity, goodwill, and economic benefits to the country;

NOW, THEREFORE, all government agencies and instrumentalities, including government-owned or -controlled corporations, are hereby directed, and all local govenrment units are encouraged to extend full support to the 2023 FIVB Volleyball Nations League and the 2023 Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour - Challenge.

This Circular shall take effect immediately.
