[ MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 27, August 15, 2023 ]
SUSPENSION OF WORK IN GOVERNMENT OFFICES AND CLASSES IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS AT ALL LEVELS IN METRO MANILA AND THE PROVINCE OF BULACAN ON 25 AUGUST 2023
In view of the commitment of the public sector towards wider involvement and participation in sports promotion and development, and in order to extend its full support and assistance to the Philippine Sports Commission in ensuring the safe, orderly, and successful conduct of the opening ceremonies of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023, to be held at the Philippine Arena in Bocaue, Bulacan on 25 August 2023, work in government offices and classes in public schools at all levels in Metro Manila and the Province of Bulacan are hereby suspended on 25 August 2023.
However, those agencies whose functions involve the delivery of basic and health services, preparedness/response to disasters and calamities, and/or the performance of other vital services shall continue with their operations and render the necessary services.
The suspension of work for private companies and classes in private schools is left to the discretion of their respective heads.
This Circular shall take effect immediately.
