IMMEDIATE RECALL OF PRODUCT



For the purpose of protecting the meat consuming public against unreasonable risks of illness and injuries that could be brought by the consumption of about 50 metric tons of expired and contaminated pork from Taiwan which allegedly entered the domestic market, you are hereby directed to institute an immediate recall and proper disposal of such product.

You are authorized under Article 17 of the Consumer Act of the Philippines (R.A. #7394) to have access to or copying of pertinent records of or gain entry to meat establishments, cold storages or other similar establishment or perform/conduct inspection to facilitate the immediate recall of the aforecited product.

Further, your are also advised to coordinate with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Philippine National Police (PNP) and other proper authorities, should the need arise in the implementation of this Order.
