MARKING REQUIREMENT OF DUTY-FREE MERCHANDISE AT CLARK AND SUBIC SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONES



The Memo issued on the marking requirement of duty-free merchandise at Clark and Subic should read as follows:
"Pursuant to the instruction of the President dated 17 June 1997 that special label with the inscription "NOT FOR RESALE; IMPORTED DUTY-FREE" shall be placed on duty free items, and in line with the agreement reached between BOC, CDC and the duty free shop operators in Clark during meetings held 26 June and 03 July 1997, you are hereby directed to seize any merchandise being sold at the duty free shops at the Subic and Clark Special Economic Zones which do not carry the required label."
This order shall take effect on 15 July 1997.
