LIFTING THE TEMPORARY BAN ON THE IMPORTATION OF FMD SUSCEPTIBLE ANIMALS, THEIR MEAT, MEAT PRODUCTS AND BY-PRODUCTS ORIGINATING FROM JAPAN



The Office International des Epizooties (OIE) recognizes the Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) free status of Japan. Based on the decision of the FMD Commission dated 26 September 2000, Japan has been reinserted on the list of FMD free countries in accordance with Resolution No. XVII of the 65th General Session of the OIE International Committee.

With the declaration of the OIE, the temporary ban on the importation of FMD susceptible animals, their meat, meat products and by-products originating from Japan is hereby lifted.

This Order shall take effect immediately.
