(NAR) VOL. 7 NO. 3 / JULY-SEPTEMBER 1996

[ BC MEMORANDUM, July 30, 1995 ]

SALE OF FORFEITED/ABANDONED MALING PORK LUNCHEON MEAT AND OTHER PROCESSED MEAT PRODUCTS

In the terms and conditions in the notice of public auction sale involving forfeited and/or abandoned Maling Pork Luncheon Meat and other processed meat products, it is provided, among others, that only bidders who shall consequently export such goods outside the country and food importers licensed by the Bureau of Food and Drugs (BFAD) may qualify to join the public auction sale set for these canned meat products.

In view however of the recently issued Executive Order No. 313 which in effect liberalized the importation of Maling Pork Luncheon Meat and other processed meat products, such restrictions limiting the auction sale only to qualified bidders are hereby revoked/lifted. The corresponding provisions to this effect may now be removed from the terrns and conditions in the notice of public auction sale.

Maling Pork Luncheon Meat and other processed meat products may now be offered for sale to the general public to generate a wider base for bids more advantageous to the government, provided such goods are fit for human consumption.

Be guided accordingly.

Adopted: 30 July 1995
