INTEGRATION OF THE MEDICARE PROGRAM FOR OVERSEAS FILIPINO WORKERS (OFWs) TO THE PHILIPPINE HEALTH INSURANCE CORPORATION (PHILHEALTH)



Effective March 1, 2005, the Medicare Program for OFWs and their families shall be integrated to the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PHILHEALTH) pursuant to Executive Order No. 392 Amending Executive Order No. 182 signed on December 28, 2004 and Philhealth Board Reolution No. 760, which was approved on 27 January 2005.

The payment of the Philippine annual premium contribution shall remain at NINE HUNDRED PESOS which shall be collected by PhilHealth and/or its deputized agencies.

PhilHealth shall issue a PhilHealth Certificate of Eligibility (PCE) which is valid for one year after the payment of the annual premium. The PCE shall be used in the availment of benefit claims within the validity period. The same procedure in the collection of payments for POEA Processing Fee, OWWA Membership/Insurance and PhilHealth premiums shall be implemented at the Landbased Center and Balik-Manggagawa Processing Division.
