IMPLEMENTATION OF IMO RESOLUTION A.955(23) AMENDMENTS TO THE PRINCIPLES OF SAFE MANNING RESOLUTION A.890(21)



Pursuant to the provisions of IMO Resolution A.955 (23) on the Amendments To The Principles of Safe Manning (Resolution A.890 (21) adopted on 05 December 2003 and entered into force on 01 January 2008, Philippine-registered ships of 500 gt and above and passenger ships regardless of size are mandated to conform with the amendment therein which requires that there should at least be one (1) officer who shall continuously have a valid Certificate of Proficiency for Ship Security Officer pursuant to the 2006 Amendment to the STCW Convention, Regulation VI/5.

Whereupon, all Manning Certificates (MC) and Minimum Safe Manning Certificates (MSMC) issued to Philippine-registered ships engaged in the overseas trade shall be subject to re-issuance upon approval of this Flag State Administration Advisory (FSAA).

This Flag-State Administration Advisory (FSAA) shall take effect immediately.
