NON-EXISTENT JOBS IN CHINA



The Philippine Embassy in Beijing, China has reported on the current problem of illegal recruitment of Filipino workers to China. According to the report, Filipino workers are offered jobs in China that are non-existent. The Embassy has also received complaints from Filipinos on the proliferation of dubious employment offers in that country via the internet.

Employment of foreign workers in China is restricted. Prospective applicants, including! English teachers, seeking employment in that country via the internet, are advised to take extra-precautionary measures to establish the authenticity of such employment offers by verifying the same with the POEA.

The general public is enjoined to report any illegal recruitment or fraudulent job recruitment via the internet to the POEA Anti-illegal Recruitment Branch at telephone nos. 721-0619 and 721-0650.
