(NAR) VOL. IV NO. 4 / OCTOBER-DECEMBER 1993

[ POEA MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 45, s. 1993, October 21, 1993 ]

ESTABLISHING CONCILIATION OFFICE IN MINISTRY OF LABOR, SINGAPORE

All agencies and entities, particularly those with deployment to Singapore, are informed of the grievance machinery which was recently made available by Singapore government for foreign domestic workers.

In the past, requests for conciliation and filing of complaints against employers necessitated official endorsement from the Embassy of the Philippines before it could be acted upon by the Singapore Labor Ministry.  With the new system, the domestic worker may present her complaint or grievance to the Conciliation Section, Ministry of Labor with address at 18 Havelock Road, Singapore, either by writing or appearing in person.

Agencies and entities concerned are enjoined to disseminate this positive development during the regular pre-departure orientation seminar or supplemental briefings they conduct for their respective workers.

For compliance.
