AMENDING MEMORANDUM CIRCULAR NO. 75 ON THE GUIDELINES ON THE TEMPORARY UTILIZATION OF FOREIGN-OWNED/REGISTERED TANKERS AND CARGO VESSELS IN THE PHILIPPINE WATERS



In order to alleviate the critical shortage of local tonnage of LPG carriers for the domestic distribution of LPG, Memorandum Circular No. 75*, specifically Section 3.2 thereof, is hereby amended to read as follows:
"No Special Permit shall be issued to foreign-owned/registered tankers/cargo vessels or vessels used in oil drilling activities, offshore surveying, dredging, construction, which are more than fifteen (15) years old from date of launching.  This provision however, shall not apply to LPG carriers."
All other provisions of MARINA Memorandum Circular No. 75, insofar as they are not inconsistent with this Circular, shall remain in full force and effect.

This Memorandum Circular shall take effect, fifteen (15) days after its publication once in a newspaper of general circulation.
