WHEREAS, Section 40 of the Rules and Regulations implementing R.A. 8559 promulgated by the Board of Agricultural Engineering through Resolution No. 1, series of 1998 states that “The Board, in collaboration and consultation with the Integrated and Accredited Association of Agricultural Engineers and concerned agencies, government and private, shall immediately prepare, develop and promulgate a Code of Technical Standards of Agricultural Engineering which shall contain, among others, standard design and test procedures, material and process specification of agricultural, aquaculture and fishery machinery, structures, processes and other agricultural engineering system.  The Code of Technical Standards shall serve as reference of the agricultural engineer in the practice of his profession”;

WHEREAS, the PSAE has adopted through Resolution No. 025, series of 2001 the said Philippine Agricultural Engineering Standards (PAES) as the Code of the Technical Standard of Agricultural Engineering and forwarded the same for adoption and promulgation by the Board of Agricultural Engineering;

WHEREAS, after a study and review of the Philippine Agricultural Engineering Standards Volume 1, series of 2001, the Board finds it essential and useful in the practice of agricultural engineering in the Philippines;

NOW, THEREFORE, by virtue of the Board’s power vested under Section 9 of R.A. 8559 and Section 9 of R.A. 8981, the Board hereby RESOLVED, as it now RESOLVES, to adopt the Philippine Agricultural Engineering Standards, Volume 1, series of 2001, as Annex “A”, as a Code of Technical Standards of Agricultural Engineering, and shall serve as technical reference by all agricultural engineers in the signing and sealing of plans, designs and specifications, and other related works in the practice of their profession;

FURTHER RESOLVED, to recommend to the Secretaries of the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Department of Interior and Local Governments to adopt the said Philippine Agricultural Engineering Standards as technical reference in the implementation of the National Building Code pertaining to the design, construction and repair of agricultural buildings and structures.

FINALLY RESOLVED that upon approval hereof by the Commission, this Resolution shall be effective after fifteen (15) days following the publication in the Official Gazette or any newspaper of general circulation;
