DFA DECLARATION OF ALERT LEVEL 2 FOR YEMEN



In view of the issuance of Travel Advisory by the Department of Foreign Affairs on the current political situation in Yemen indicating Alert Level 2 (Caution Stage), and pursuant to the corresponding instructions contained in a memorandum of the Secretary of Labor and Employment to the POEA Administrator dated April 5, 2011, the processing and deployment of all newly hired workers to the said country shall continue to be deferred until such time that the political and security condition threat has normalized.

Under Alert level 2, only returning workers will be allowed to travel back to Yemen, provided that they execute an affidavit that they voluntarily undertake such travel to resume their employment despite being fully aware of the security risk in the said country.
