The order of discharge may be in the form of “May go Home”, for discharge” or any other similar order as written in the doctor’s order sheet. In this cases, the computation for room and board shall be up to the date attending physician finally orders the discharge of the patient.
Example:
Admission Date January 4, 2010 | May Go Home Order January 10, 2010 | Date of Discharge January 10, 2010 | Total Compensable Days 6 days |
PhilHealth may request a copy of the Clinical chart to verify authenticity of the information submitted i.e., claims with prolonged period of confinement.
All accredited HCPs are hereby reminded to abide with the abovementioned rules and conditions. Violation of the above policy shall constitute the offense of extending period of confinement and is punishable under the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of R.A. 7875, as amended by R.A. 9241. Claims of health care providers found to be with unnecessary extension of confinement shall be referred to the Legal Sector for appropriate action.
All other issuances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed or modified accordingly while those consistent herewith shall remain in full force and effect.
