"SEC. 29. Legal holidays.—Thursday and Friday of Holy Week, Christmas Day, and Sundays are legal religious holidays.SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
"The legal holidays are: the first of January, the first of May, the fourth of July, the thirtieth of November, the thirtieth of December, and the day appointed by law for the holding of a general election: Provided, however, That when any regular holiday of fixed date falls on Sunday, the next succeeding day shall be observed as legal holiday."
