AN ACT PROHIBITING THE DISMISSAL OF ANY EMPLOYEE OR LABORER FOR REFUSING OR FAILING TO VOTE FOR ANY CANDIDATE OF HIS EMPLOYER, AMENDING FOR THE PURPOSE THE REVISED ELECTION CODE.



Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Congress assembled:

SECTION 1. Republic Act Numbered One hundred and eighty, otherwise known as the Revised Election Code, is hereby amended by inserting between Sections fifty-six and fifty-seven thereof the following new section:

"SEC. 56-A.—Prohibiting dismissal of employees or laborers.—No employee or laborer shall be dismissed for refusing or failing to- vote for any candidate of his employer. Any employee or laborer so dismissed shall be reinstated and the salary or wage of the employee or laborer shall be given to the aggrieved party.

"Violation of this section shall be considered as a serious election offense and shall be punished in accordance with Section one hundred  eighty five."

SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
