[ PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 862, December 29, 1975 ]

AMENDING PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 810 DATED OCTOBER 16, 1975, ENTITLED "AN ACT GRANTING A FRANCHISE TO OPERATE, CONSTRUCT AND MAINTAIN A FRONTON FOR BASQUE PELOTA AND SIMILAR GAMES OF SKILL IN THE GREATER MANILA AREA."

I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, do hereby order and decree:

SECTION 1. Section 5 of Presidential Decree No. 810 is hereby amended to read as follows:

"SEC. 5. The provision of any existing law to the contrary notwithstanding, the grantee is hereby authorized to hold Basque Pelota games (including the games of pala, raqueta, cestapunta, remonte and mano) on all days of the weeks except (a) Sundays, (b) Independence Day or June 12, (c) Holy Thursday, (d) Good Friday, (e) December 30 and (f) election days: Provided, That games with bets may also be allowed on Sundays upon prior approval by the President of the Philippines for the benefit of charitable or public welfare institutions."

SEC. 2. This Decree shall take effect immediately.

Done in the City of Manila, this 29th day of December, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-five.
