AN ACT AMENDING CHAPTER ONE OF ACT NUMBERED TWENTY FOUR HUNDRED AND TWENTY-SEVEN, KNOWN AS "THE INSURANCE ACT," SO AS TO PROVIDE A TIME LIMIT OF NOT LESS THAN ONE YEAR FOR BRINGING SUIT UNDER ANY POLICY OF INSURANCE, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the Philippines in Legislature assembled and by the authority of the same:

SECTION 1. Chapter one of Act Numbered Twenty-four hundred and twenty-seven is hereby amended by inserting the following section therein:
"SEC. 61-A. Any condition, stipulation or agreement in any policy of insurance, limiting the time for commencing an action thereunder to a period of less than one year from the time when the cause of action accrues, is void."
SEC. 2. This Act shall take effect on its approval.
