JOINT COMMUNIQUE ON THE ESTABLISHMENT OF DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES AND THE GERMAN DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC

Reference: This joint communique is also published in XII DFA TS No. 1, p. 40.

The Government of the Republic of the Philippines and the Government of the German Democratic Republic as of today agreed to establish diplomatic relations at embassy level.

In this decision both Governments have been guided by the desire to develop friendly relations in conformity with the Charter of the United Nations, the principles of peaceful co-existence, mutual respect for each other's sovereignty and territorial integrity, equality and non-interference in the internal affairs of either side.
