[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 97, October 17, 1947 ]

WAIVING THE ADDITIONAL PROGRESSIVE TAXES FOR THE 1941-1942 CROP TO BE COLLECTED FROM AND PAID BY THE PROPRIETORS OR OPERATORS OF SUGAR MILLS.



In view of the fact that most of the sugar produced during the 1941-1942 milling season fell into the hands of, and was commandeered by, the enemy, I, Manuel Roxas, President of the Philippines, do hereby waive the unpaid additional progressive taxes provided in section 2 of Commonwealth Act No. 567 to be collected from and paid by the proprietors or operators of sugar mills for the 1941-9142 crop: Provided, That, any payment made on account of said taxes prior to the date of this Order shall not be refunded.

Done at the City of Manila, this 17th day of October, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and forty-seven, and of the Independence of the Philippines, the second.
