[ EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 342, October 05, 1971 ]

ESTABLISHING THE POLLUTION RESEARCH CENTER OF THE PHILIPPINES



WHEREAS, environmental pollution and contamination are increasing at an alarming rate with industrialization and mechanization; and

WHEREAS, the existing government machinery on anti-pollution is inadequate to cope with the problem;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby establish a Pollution Research Center at Fort Bonifacio.

The Center shall be manned by representatives of the Pollution Commission, the National Science Development Board, the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources, the Department of Public Works and Communications, the Department of Health, the Department of National Defense, and such other officials or private citizens as the President may designate.

The Center may call upon any department, bureau, office, agency or instrumentality of the government for such assistance as it may need in the form of personnel, facilities and other resources.

Done in the City of Manila, this 5th day of October, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-one.
