DECLARING THURSDAY, JUNE 24, 2004, AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF MANILA



WHEREAS, every year the City of Manila celebrates June 24 as "Araw ng Maynila" in commemoration of the founding of the City as the premier Christian City of Asia;

WHEREAS, Thursday, June 24, 2004, marks the 433rd Foundation Day anniversary of the City of Manila;

WHEREAS, the residents of Manila, conscious of the historical and cultural significance of the event, desire to celebrate the same with appropriate ceremonies.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, ALBERTO G. ROMULO, Executive Secretary, by order of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Thursday, June 24, 2004, as special (non-working) day in the City of Manila.

IN WITHNESS WHREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
