DECLARING WEDNESDAY, APRIL 27, 2005 AS SPECIAL (NON-WORKING) DAY IN THE CITY OF LAPU-LAPU



    WHEREAS, Wednesday, April 27, 2005, marks the 484th anniversary of the Battle of Mactan, which has been described now as the "KADAUGAN SA MACTAN", a cultural and historical event for the City of Lapu-Lapu;

    WHEREAS, the Battle of Mactan is among the significant events in Philippine history and serves as testimony to the rich cultural and historical heritage of the Filipinos; and

    WHEREAS, it is but fitting and proper that the residents of the City of Lapu-Lapu be given full opportunity to celebrate this historic event with appropriate ceremonies.

    NOW, THEREFORE, I, EDUARDO R. ERMITA, Executive Secretary, by authority of Her Excellency, GLORIA MACAPAGAL-ARROYO, do hereby declare Wednesday, April 27, 2005, as special (non-working) day in the City of Lapu-Lapu.

    IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.
