[ PROCLAMATION NO. 118, June 06, 1963 ]

DECLARING WEDNESDAY, JUNE 19, 1963, AS A SPECIAL PUBLIC HOLIDAY



WHEREAS, the one hundred second birthday anniversary of Jose Rizal, our national hero, falls on June 19, 1963;

WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper that the people be given full opportunity to celebrate the day with appropriate ceremonies in keeping with his ideals and teachings;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Diosdado Macapagal, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by section 30 of the Revised Administrative Code, do hereby declare Wednesday, June 19, 1963, as a special public holiday.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the seal of the Republic of the Philippines to be affixed.

Done in the City of Manila, this 6th day of June, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and sixty-three.
